To celebrate the launch of our new service, we thought it only appropriate that we pay a visit to fabulous Pittsburgh jewelers to see the gorgeous engagement rings that they have to offer. Our first stop was to Henne’s on Walnut Street in Shadyside. We met with John Henne (412-682-0226) who walked us around the store and showed us the stunning rings. Not only is the store gorgeous, but John was welcoming and extremely knowledgeable.

We also found it refreshing to know that Henne’s can accommodate all budgets and not only has a wide selection of engagement rings, but we also loved browsing the other jewelry, watches and gifts that the store has to offer.

If you are looking for a dream proposal, check out our POP! page or call us at 412-441-9811 for more information.

Tervis Tumblers

Look what just arrived on The Event Group’s doorstep! Our custom Tervis tumblers are perfect for holding our morning coffee and keeping it warm.

photo 3While we love our Tervis tumblers to hold coffee, they also make for a fun and pretty gift when filled with chocolates or a Starbucks card.

tervis1 tervis2We love Tervis tumblers for branding purposes but we also think they are a great way to ask your friends and family to be your bridesmaids. We love how the bride from the above photos monogrammed each bridesmaid’s Tervis and chose a color to represent their personality.

Check out our bridesmaid board on Pinterest and our event branding page on our site for more fun ideas for your bridesmaids as well as unique ways to brand your event.

Manicures In Pittsburgh

We’ve covered some of the important things that you should do once you are engaged, but did we mention that getting a manicure should be at the top of your list? You’ll be showing your ring off and you’ll want your nails to look their best.

Gina, Cortney and Sydney went to town researching some of the best salons and spas in Pittsburgh. Here, we are covering three favorites for your post-engagement manicure!

Fairmont Collage

Our first stop was at the Fairmont Pittsburgh.

Located in downtown Pittsburgh the Fairmont is host to a relaxing spa and workout facility. The spa is currently under renovation and should be finished within the next few weeks. We can’t wait to see what they have in store! Stay tuned for a future post to see the updates.

We were welcomed into the spa with sweet treats and a little bubbly. Cortney got a manicure at the Fairmont Pittsburgh with Georgeine.  She chose a deep burgundy shade which is perfect for those that get engaged in the fall. The Fairmont is a great space for a relaxing manicure but would also be perfect for a bachelorette party or bridal party. We also learned that whenever you have an appointment at the spa, the sauna, workout space and locker room are yours to use for the day.

Call Georgeine at 412-773-8882 to set up an appointment.

Gina tried out the next salon, M Nails. The shop right off of S. Aiken Avenue was a great location and had plenty of parking available. This salon is affordable and Jimmy did a wonderful job. Gina got a sheer, nude, pink which is perfect for someone who wants an understated manicure. M Nail Salon had a great selection of colors; both gel and regular polish were available.

To make an appointment Call Mai at 412-918-1709 and make an appointment with Jimmy.

Sydney got a great, natural looking French manicure at Glam off of S. Aiken Avenue in Shadyside. Glam is a full service salon offering haircuts, color services, waxing and nail services. Dana was fabulous and very knowledgeable about all of the products that Glam had to offer. They had lots of all natural and organic products to choose from while also having a great selection of gel and regular nail polish.

To book an appointment with Dana e-mail her at Dana.Glamnails@gmail.com or call 412-681-0690.

So there you have it; a run-down of three great salons in Pittsburgh for your post-engagement manicure. Whether you like a bold polish, understated nude or classic French, there is a color and salon that will best fit you. What is your favorite salon in Pittsburgh?
