Pittsburgh Makeup Artist: Julie Marckisotto

At The Event Group, we take vendor selection seriously! Choosing the right vendors for your event is one of the most important steps in the event planning process. Today we are highlighting Julie Marckisotto of Pittsburgh Makeup. Julie stopped by our offices for makeovers and we had a great time chatting with her about the process and her favorite products. As a bride, the last thing you want to be worrying about is your makeup, and hiring a makeup artist is a great way to ease your mind and ensure you look your absolute best on your big day!

Julie came prepared with lots of different makeup and set up a small, neat work area. She asked Gina and Sydney about their skin types. As she applied the different products, she explained how to apply the product and the different brands she was using. During your bridal makeup trial, it is important to let your makeup artist know about your skin. Letting her know things like ‘oily skin’ or ‘acne prone skin’ can help to determine which products she uses.

It is important to schedule a trial run before your big day. This is so the makeup artist can get to know your coloring and skin type and it is also the perfect time for you, as the bride, to let her know what your likes and dislikes are. This way, there are no surprises and you are sure to look your absolute best! To see before and after photos, check us out on Instagram!

Instagramming at Weddings and Events

Here at The Event Group, we love Instagram. It is a great social media platform to share beautiful images! We are always posting inspiration, behind the scenes action and love to follow other accounts!

Instagram is a great way to incorporate social media into your wedding. Simply create a hashtag before your wedding and then publicize the hashtag around your wedding reception venue. It might be a good idea to make use of the fantastic service that https://kenji.ai provide to boost your instagram account, but I digress. It’s not only fun for the guests at the wedding, but it is also fun for the bride and groom to go through the hashtag after the wedding and see all of the fun photos that guests took! There are some great ways to get the word out about your hashtag. We are sharing some of our favorites from Pinterest:

Once you have introduced your hashtag to guests, they will have a ball posting photos!

At The Event Group, we always suggest to our clients that they have signs in the bathroom by the sinks, at the entrance to the venue and by the escort card table. Will you be using Instagram at your next event or wedding?

Something Blue

There’s the age old saying ‘Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’. Traditionally, these are followed by the bride, but there are many different ways you can incorporate these traditions into your wedding. Today we are sharing some of our favorite ‘something blue’!

blue bow

A beautiful blue sash is perfect for the bride who wants a little pop of color against her white dress.

bridesmaid monogram shirts

Having monogrammed shirts for the bridesmaids to wear while getting ready makes for some great photos. We love the idea of having the bridesmaids in blue shirts and the bride in a white shirt!

bridesmaids in blue

Is blue your color? If so, blue bridesmaids dresses are definitely a ‘something blue’!

embroidered wedding gown

Having a subtle monogram and date embroidered to the inside of the wedding gown is a special touch.

escort cards

Blue escort cards make for a different touch. We love that the ones in the photo above are several different shades of blue!

MANOLO BLAHNIK WEDDING SHOES SOMETHING BLUE

There are so many gorgeous pairs of blue shoes to choose from. They’ll be hidden under the wedding gown, for the most part, but every once in a while, guests will catch a glimpse of your blue soles!

monogrammed blue sash for flower girl

If a sash on your wedding gown is too much, having a sash on the flower girl’s dress is the sweetest touch.

So whether you are going with something subtle like embroidering the inside of your dress or you want a pop of color like a blue sash, there is something for every bride!
