Today we are talking lips. Because, hey, nothing seals the deal more than the famous line, “You may now kiss the bride.” You’ll want your lips ready for that moment, right? The Event Group has found some of our favorite, sticks, stains, and glosses to give you the perfect pout as you go in for your first married kiss!
Nars Risky Business gloss is s sheer, gloss with a neutral, rosy tone. It’s the perfect gloss for over a stain or a matte lipstick.
Fresh’s Sugar Lip Treatment comes in varying shades. While the tinted one is perfect for the bride that just wants a natural flush to her lips, the uncolored are the perfect product to use months prior to the wedding. The moisturizing ingredients in the balm protect your lips from sun damage while leaving you with soft, kissable lips just in time to say your “I Do’s”.
C.O. Bigelow’s Mentha Lip Shine is for the bride that loves a shiny gloss. Bonus points? This gloss doubles as a minty breath freshener.
Tom Ford’s lip color delivers a creamy, pigmented hue. This lipstick comes in a bevy of color choices for a bold lip.
Whether you are a minimalist and go for Fresh’s sugar lip treatment or you prefer a bold lip like Tom Ford’s lip color, regardless of your choice, you are sure to be a gorgeous bride! What is your go-to lip color? What did you wear on your lips for your wedding day?
The Pennsylvanian – WOW – what a gorgeous setting for a gorgeous couple! Molly and Kevin utilized the uniqueness of this stunning Pittsburgh setting in many ways.
Cocktails were held outside under the rotunda (heat lamps were brought in to make sure guests felt comfortable in the cool May air), escort cards were carefully positioned on the luggage cart in the lobby. Instead of a traditional guestbook, Molly and Kevin gave the guests the option to leave their best wishes on a vintage card catalog system.
As guests were invited into the main dining room, they saw beautiful centerpieces by Allison McGeary Florist atop tables dressed in caramel bark linens. Each centerpiece had a a mix of white hydrangeas, peach roses, dusty pink roses and greens – some in tall glass vases and some in lower pink mercury glass for a mix in height. Tablescapes were enhanced with apothecary jars filled with white stones and succulents.
Guests dined on an heirloom tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad topped with a basil bouquet followed by grilled filet with red wine sauce infused with whole red grapes and Gorgonzola crumbles – a specialty of Rania’s Catering. The breathtaking wedding cake was custom designed by Kevin’s aunt for a sentimental touch. The floral on the cake matched the floral arrangements, it was almost hard to distinguish which flowers were real and which were sugar! After the fabulous meal, guests were ready to get up on the dance floor and party to the sounds of Free Spirit.

Bella Bridesmaid, a bridesmaid boutique, boasts 43 locations within the United States. The Event Group recently enjoyed visiting the Pittsburgh location and eyeing up gorgeous frocks fit for anyone’s special day.
Bridget, the owner, was very helpful as we walked through the gorgeous space and perused the dresses. Bridget’s knowledge of various designers, fits, colors and trends helped her to select perfect gowns for The Event Group ladies to try on.

First Bridget dressed Gina, Sydney and Cortney in a plum shade that is very popular for fall weddings. This shade of purple is great because it can be accessorized with either silver or gold jewelry and shoes.

Next, Bridget pulled some neutral hues for us to try out. A unique way to dress your maids is to pick a dress in varying shades of one color. Another idea is to pick dresses in the same color but with different cuts and styles.

Bridget suggested that we try out a popular “trend” of the moment which is the peplum. The frill around the waist of these dresses creates a fun and flirty silhouette on any woman.
