For this wedding, the couple met at Boston College, so incorporating something BC into the wedding was a welcome addition. This was not only fun for guests, but also a great keepsake for the bride and groom in their future home. See more photos from this wedding, here.

The couple’s monogram was framed and the mat became an area where guests could sign and write their well-wishes. This was also great for the couple because it went with both the reception decor and with their decor at home.

One of our couples chose to go with the traditional book style for their guests to sign; but they really made it special with a pen that fit in well with their decor and winter wonderland ‘theme’. Choosing a unique pen or even changing up the linen that is on the guest book table is a great way to have a traditional guest book with your own original twist! Fisherreception052This beautiful postage box was placed on a table for guests to write letters to the couple. On their first anniversary, the couple will open the box to remind them of all of their friends and family who helped them celebrate their special day. See more photos from this wedding, here.

Red, White and Blue

With Memorial Day sneaking up on us, the unofficial start to summer is almost here! We have gathered some great ideas to help you welcome summertime. We are sticking with a patriotic red, white and blue palette for our inspiration so this is great for Memorial Day, Fourth of July or Labor Day!

You can do food in American flag designs or you can go more abstract with just using red, white and blue foods. Doesn’t the tomato salad on a blue corn chip look lovely?

From different linens in different hues and textures to mixing and matching china and crystal, creating the perfect Memorial Day tablescape is fun! Keep it subtle like the red white and blue planters above or go for a bolder look and incorporate colored glassware.

Here at The Event Group we enjoy the holiday but we also remember and honor all of the heroes who have given their lives for our country. We celebrate them on May 26th!
