When the Covid-19 pandemic first impacted office buildings across Pittsburgh in March, the city’s business community found itself scrambling to master Zoom and Microsoft Teams videoconference calls.
In-person event schedules were wiped clean and left hanging for some unknown future dates.
However, as the pandemic surges on, Pittsburgh companies have begun to reschedule those events, panel discussions, professional development workshops and galas in more creative ways than a simple Zoom call.
“When all of this happened, all of our clients needed to shift,” said Sheila Weiner, president of Pittsburgh-based The Event Group. “Some of the clients were able to reschedule for the future when events would be live. A lot of clients could not do that and needed to find an alternative. So, virtual and remote engagement solutions were something they were really looking for.”
