Nicholas Farber and Stephanie Dreifuss, both of whom attended the University of Pittsburgh for medical school, met at a pivotal moment of their education — the white coat ceremony. A rite of passage for medical students, the ceremony marks their journey into the medical field. Stephanie knew she would be entering a new chapter of her life, but she didn’t know that she would be meeting her future husband. As she walked into the building, Nicholas introduced himself at the top of the stairs. They eventually became friends and study partners; at the end of their second year of med school, things were different.
