With New Year’s right around the corner, we think back fondly on New Year’s Eve weddings that we have been involved with, like the gorgeous couple’s wedding in the photo above (see details in Whirl Magazine). In case you don’t have a New Year’s Eve wedding or event to attend and are planning on hosting your own, here are some fun ideas to get you started.

clockls

We love the idea of using clocks throughout the decor. This builds up the excitement to the countdown! If you are having a seated dinner, place a noisemaker or party popper at each place setting as a great way to get guests ready for the countdown to midnight.

sequin linen

Sequin linens are the perfect way to add some fun to your tablescape. With the right lighting, they will sparkle and create a gorgeous, romantic ambiance around the room.

champagne cocktail new years eve ideas

Ring in the new year with a champagne cocktail like a French 75. This delicious cocktail is made with gin, lemon juice, sugar, champagne and garnished with an orange peel.

glitter rimmed champagne cocktail

To add an element of sparkle, line the rims of your cocktail glasses with edible glitter! You can also add edible glitter to desserts like fortune cookies and cupcakes.

bubbly barIf you are hosting a larger event, a bubbly bar is a perfect way for guests to create their own cocktail. Stock the bar with things like Chambord, St. Germain, Pomegranate Liqueur and fun garnishes.

new years eve

Gilded signs and confetti make for a very festive atmosphere. From gold confetti to party poppers, there is something for every party– as long as you don’t mind cleaning up!

We hope you take these tips and create a fun and festive New Year’s Eve event. Wishing you a very happy and healthy 2014, from all of us at The Event Group!
